Metaphoria

The Metaphoria gallery features a series of figurative works exploring allegory, perception, and the internal dreamscape. Drawing on classical motifs and metaphysical themes, the paintings move between imaginative vision and institutional critique.

I prefer to express myself metaphorically. A symbol contains within itself a definite meaning… while metaphor is an image.” –Stanley Kubrick

I would like viewers to note that, while some of this work engages with symbols and languages of the occult to explore how they operate within human consciousness, this is not done so to endorse or serve occultism and the dark arts. The hidden, the alluring, and the forbidden are presented as mirrors and illustrations of our vulnerability to deception. These images are allegories, not evocations. I paint metaphors of temptation and illusion as catalysts for anamnesis: messages to awaken and remember the sovereignty of the spirit. Like the Gnostics and Hermeticists, I view the world as a veil of mixed signals: truth interwoven with distortion. My art seeks to disentangle the threads, revealing how the light of Divine Grace can be refracted through the glamour of illusion.
